An early 19th century inlaid mahogany longcase clock
with 8 day movement, the dome topped hood with satinwood and ebony inlaid faux fluted columns, enclosing a brass arched dial with silvered Roman Numeral chapter ring and Arabic five minute divisions around a subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the centre engraved with shell and acanthus motifs with marine vignettes below, signed 'John Harvey Weymouth', with gilt metal mask spandrels and dolphin crest with an engraved silvered boss depicting Poseidon atop a dolphin, the trunk with arched top cross banded flame mahogany door, decorated with paterae and inlaid leaf spandrels to the bottom, the panelled base with central patera and inlaid fluted spandrels, on short bracket feet united by a shaped apron, 83in (211cm) high.
