A 20th century naval Officer's dress sword
with cast brass lion head pommel, the mane forming the back piece, with wire bound fish skin grip, braided bullion knot and cast steel knuckle guard with rope entwined anchor and crown, the side with hinged locking plate, the 31in (71cm) engraved fullered steel blade with Royal coat of arms and entwined anchor, marked Gieves, the black leather scabbard with tooled brass mounts and two suspension rings, together with a felt case and brown leather all weather case marked with initials E.C.C., total length 38in (97cm).
