  • Notes: * Provenance: Bearing the crest of the Baker family of Bayfordbury, built by Sir William Baker MP (1705-1770) and inherited by Sir Robert Baker, lawyer & Treasurer of the Middle Temple, 1832 and Sheriff, who by repute, prevented the possible rioting at the funeral of Queen Caroline of Brunswick in 1821. His son, Henry Baker was architect of various important buildings in St. Pancras, Holborn and Baker Street, London. He was presented with this silver salver and is reputed to be the Baker from which Baker Street derives its name.
