An early 19th century 'Mameluke' Officer's sabre
the curved horn handle with cast gilt metal mounts and chain, the gilt metal cruciform cross guard with cast foliate decoration, the 26in (66cm) curved plain steel blade double-edged to final 9 inches, the blue velvet covered scabbard with three cast gilt metal foliate decorated lockets and two cast gilt suspension rings, total length 34in (87cm).
