Description:
An antique Italian stone well head
of circular form, the exterior with relief decoration of foliage, Lion and Satyr masks, together with an associated 20th century cast iron attachment, 30in (76cm) diameter, 25in (64cm) high.

Notes:
* Recent provenance in Guernsey. This well head was once owned by The Italian Honorary Vice Consul in Guernsey Marchese Peruzzi, who held office during the 1960's. It was sold at a public auction circa 1971, following the death of the owner.
A 'Marchese Peruzzi', who married a Miss Storey in the early 20th century, was from an old Florentine family, closely allied with the Medici.
It is not yet known if these two persons were related.
