with brass lion hilt, wire-bound shagreen grip, braided pommel and folding lock, the 31 inch (79cm) engraved blade marked J. Gieve & Sons, Naval Outfitters, Portsmouth & Devonport, the leather scabbard with engraved brass fittings and two suspension rings, total length 36.5in (92.5cm).
