A Victorian General Officer's Light Cavalry sabre
the pierced ivory handle with braided bullion knot, the cast brass cross guard with crossed sword and baton in a laurel wreath, the engraved curved blade with double edge to last 10 inches, finely engraved with foliage, Royal monogram and crown with cross sword and baton below a crown, the blade further engraved J. Edwards, Hanover Street, London, the brass scabbard with square shoe and two suspension rings on raised cruciform bands, total length 36in (91.5cm).
