A small South Asian dish
possibly Annamese, late 14th or early 15th century, the centre with painted bird resting on foliage, with out-stretched wings and three stylised clouds above, enclosed within five painted rings, the rim unglazed, the glazed underside is undecorated, the high foot which is chipped has a painted band of circular brown wash and an unglazed centre, 8.5in (21.5cm) diameter.
