An important pair of Scottish all steel flintlock belt pistols
by John Murdoch, Doune, circa 1780, with extensive engraved decoration, three silver gilt engraved bands to underside, gilt button triggers engraved with flower-heads, engraved slender belt hooks, three stage barrels, flared octagonal muzzles, the lock signed Jo. Murdoch, 6.75in (17.5cm) barrels, total length 11.5in (29.5cm).
