Lots 90-124 are from The Collection of the Late Professor Francis Edgar Stock OBE, CBE (1914–1997)

Francis Edgar Stock trained as a surgeon at King's College London. In 1938, he joined the Colonial Service and served in Nigeria until 1945.
When the University of Hong Kong reopened after the Second World War in 1948, Stock was appointed Professor of Surgery, a position he held until 1963. During this period, he trained numerous doctors in surgical practice and travelled extensively across Asia and other parts of the world, teaching and lecturing. Many of his patients came from mainland China and expressed their gratitude through gifts of porcelain, several of which form part of the collection offered here.
Following his tenure in Hong Kong, Stock spent seven years at the University of Liverpool, where he served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. In 1970, he became Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa, a post he held until his retirement in 1977. He subsequently settled in Jersey, where he spent his remaining years.
In recognition of his distinguished public service, Francis Edgar Stock was awarded the OBE in 1961 and the CBE in 1977.
