Description:

A fine pair of early 19th century flintlock duelling pistols
circa 1810, by H. W. Mortimer & Co. London, the chequered walnut butt and half stocks with carved spiral caps, octagonal 10in (25.5cm) steel barrels, target sights, patent breeches signed with maker's name in an inlaid gold ribbon, gold vents, signed engraved locks with rollers, gold lined rain-proof pans, the safety-catches also locking the steels, silver escutcheons, silver vacant shield-shape cartouche, set triggers, engraved spur trigger guards and original horn-tipped ramrods (one cock associated) 15.5in (39.5cm) long.
