the horn grip well carved as a elephant's head with extended trunk, with inset glass eyes, above an engraved silver collar marked Birmingham 1892, maker probably Thomas Ducrow, on a tapering ebonised shaft (probably rosewood), 34.5in. (87.5cm.) long.
