A fine George III silver tea urn
London 1781, maker John Smith, of Channel Islands interest, of vase form, bearing the Armorial coat of arms of the Tupper family of Guernsey, and motto 'L'Espoir Est Ma Force' (Hope is my strength), the domed lid with three leaf finial and fleur-de-lys decoration, the tapering body with twin scroll handles, with ebonised tap, the Tupper crest finely engraved in an oval cartouche above, set on square detachable base with four ball feet, weight approx 91oz 20.5in (52cm) high, 11in (28cm) wide.
