Description:

A George III silver salver London 1809, maker Paul Storr, of circular form with a gadrooned and scallop border, the centre finely engraved with floral sprays and foliage enclosing a coat of arms, set of four supports, the underside with engraved monogram, 10.5in (26. 5cm) diameter, weight 25oz. Engraved for the marriage on 6th July 1811 of James William Farrer of Ingleborough, Yorkshire to Henrietta Elizabeth, widow of Hon. John Scott, eldest son of the 1st earl of Eldon (Lord Chancellor of Great Britain) and daughter of Sir Matthew Ridley, Bart of Blagdon, Northumberland.
