* Provenance: Christie's London, unknown sale date, Lot 470.

** Condition: The two lifting sections of top with oval paintings show some signs of damage. The right hand section has a 3/4in. section of the diagonal Edge banding missing at the back right. The painted figure holding aloft a cross has two splits across the centre of the oval one of approx. 4in. and the other approx. 2in. The left-hand section has a slight bow to the top which has caused a split at the front approx. 3in. from the left side in a wave shape across to the right side. A small section of the diagonal edge stringing is missing from the front left corner approx. 1/4in. long.

A piece of the cross banding is missing from the front right corner of this lid. The lidded jug of the Tea Set is impressed Wedgwood & Bentley and a hand painted red 'O'. The teapot lidded Sucrier and milk jug also have the red 'O'. The other three pieces are unmarked.
In the fitted right hand side there are four silver mounted small cut and faceted bottles, 2 silver mounted jugs and a bowl plus 2 spare bottles and stoppers. The silver mounts differ in design between the bottles and jugs thus the glassware has been matched to fit the piece. The two drawers and the stand appear undamaged.
