Description:

A George III oak chest on stand
the moulded top over two short and three long graduated drawers, with later period style brasses, on a (probably original) three drawer stand with pierced shaped apron and stile feet, 39 1/4 x 21 1/4in. (99.5 x 54cm.), 50 1/4in. (127.5cm.).
*Top has movement and lifting to plank joint to RH side. Chips to molding beneath this on the side. Top warped a little at back left corner. Later replaced fibreboard back. Separation between planks to left-hand side. Top drawer lacks locks. Later brasses. Left hand top drawer has some old worm holes to beech lining. Losses to top of base edge molding to left-hand side and similar to right hand side. Small restored gouge to wood just above on top. Another gouge out of the left hand edge of lower drawer aperture. One corner bracket missing from a leg on both sides and both missing from front. Good color overall.
