Description:

A Chinese export blue and white porcelain small platter
18th / early 19th century, of shaped oval form, painted with a lake landscape with two figures on a bridge, within a floral pendant, diaper and cellwork border, 13in. (33cm.) long; together with small covered tureen with octagonal stand, painted with a lake landscape within multiple borders, with pig mask handles, the cover with foliate finial, 11 5/8in. (29.5cm.) long, tureen restored; a larger shaped platter painted with flowers and pomegranates, 15¾in. (40cm.) long, cracked; and a large tureen (lacks cover), with pig mask handles, painted with a lake landscape. (6)

  • Condition: - Oval platter: Small glaze chip and a few tiny glaze frits to rim. No other faults.
    - Tureen & stand: The stand in good condition, with just a burst glaze bubble (firing flaw) to the rim. The tureen and cover have been broken and restored - this work is old and although well executed, there is now discolouration to the white paint used to disguise the break lines inside the base and cover.
    - Large platter: Has a large crack across approx. three quarter of the plate. There is some glaze scratching to the well.
    - Larger tureen base: One of the pigs' ears is missing and there is a large star crack to the base, which does show to the interior.
