A portrait photograph of Major General, H.H. Sri Shahaji Chhatrapati, Maharaja Saheb of Kolhapur
sepia, of the Maharaja in all his finery, signed faintly in ink lower right, embossed by studio ''D.O. Barale Kolhapur'', 11 x 9in. (22.8 x 27.9cm.), in silver plated glazed frame; together with a smaller black and white cropped copy of the photograph; a small colour photograph of the Maharaja in later years, dated 1980 and initialled ''SB'' in ink; a black and white photograph of the Maharaja in military regalia, probably 1960s; a handwritten and typed new year greeting letter from his son, Maharaja Shahu Chatrapati, on New Palace headed paper, dated January 13, 1984; and a hand written and typed letter on New Palace headed paper reading ''Dear Madam. We are sorry for not improving earlier the death of Maj. Gen. Sir Shahaji Chhatrapati Maharaja Saheb of Kolhapur on 9th May 1983. However your letter dated 30th December 1983 was placed before his son Shahu Chhatrapati, Maharaja of Kolhapur, Your Sincerely P.D. Toraskar, Private Secretary''.
