Sale F90003 Lot 24

An 18th century Channel Islands silver christening cup
maker's mark GH struck three times to base (Guillaume Henry, Guernsey c.1720-1767), of typical form, the body in good gauge silver with broad bowl and flat top to the rim, wide cast beaded S-scroll handles and short, waisted foot, inscribed to side 'a AB don de Son Parain & Mareine Isaac Le Lacheur & Jeanne Bevi 1771', 2 1/2in. (6.4cm.) high, weight 3.35 tr.oz.
* Exhibited at the 1978 Channel Islands Silver Exhibition, Guernsey Museum & Art Gallery. Listed on p.27 in the exhibition catalogue.
